Senior Partner

Robert Yaeger started as an apprentice Die Sinker, graduating to running CNC machines in his own tool and die company. Robert spent 19 years in the tool and die business before taking a break to go scuba diving and parasailing. He spent 5 years in the Dominican Republic running Big Red’s Ocean adventures before moving to Vancouver to work in film. Starting work in commercials in 1998, and then forming The FX Guys with Jim Fisher, Robert has a 14 year career in motion picture special effects.

Jim Fisher used his extensive film background and industry connections to build the company to where it is today. Jim's broad range of experience in the resource industries in BC prepared him to work in special effects. Recruited by John Thomas to work on the movie “Stakeout” in 1986, Jim built a solid special effects career spanning 26 years.

   

Lead Fabricator

Gary Heidrick holds an A ticket in pressure welding and steel fabricating, and 34 years of experience, he's capable of putting together anything that can be drawn. Gary put 13 years in at a structural steel fabricating plant, and ended up as the quality control manager when they made their ISO 9002 certification. From there he put in 8 years as a millwright at a sawmill operation before moving to motion picture special effects in 2002.

   

Controller/Fab

Christ Sturges makes sure deadlines are met and contracts are signed. He's been involved in business for over 20 years, running companies from renovation contracting to software development, computer game design, and special event management. He started working on The Symphony of Fire in 1990, and went into motion picture special effects in 1995.
